We rated it from what Nolimit City has published: the maths, the features and the buys, set against Fire in the Hole 3. Who should play it, and who should not.

Verdict.★★★★☆ 4 out of 5. A strong sequel for players who want a long, dry base game paid back by one big bonus. Not for anyone who needs the balance to move every few spins.
What we like
The bonus. Lucky Nugget Spins reset to three spins every time a Nugget lands, and the Upgrade Reel can multiply a row by up to x100 once its locks are blown. Dwarfs collect the board and Evil Dwarfs multiply the chests, so one round has several ways to grow.
It arrives more often. About 1 in 205 spins, against 1 in 231 in Fire in the Hole 3.
Cheap boosters. For 2x the bet you get at least one Bonus symbol, for 8x all six rows from the start. That is a way to try the bigger board without paying for a full buy.
A higher ceiling. 75,000x, up from 70,000x in the third game.
What we do not like
Long dry runs. A 22.18% hit frequency means roughly four spins in five pay nothing.
The cap is harder to reach. Nolimit puts the 75,000x at about 1 in 40 million spins, almost three times rarer than in Fire in the Hole 3.
Expensive buys. 650x to 1,500x the bet, with no per-buy RTP on the game page.
xHole is gone. The third game's signature trigger did not make it into the fourth.

A sequel that improves the bonus and asks more patience in the base game

Who it suits, who should skip
It suits players who already like Nolimit's high-volatility games, can sit through a hundred spins without a win and set a budget before they start. Skip it if you want a steady game for a long session on a small balance, or if a bonus buy at 650x your bet would be most of your budget.

For players who like high-volatility games with a big bonus, yes: we rate it 4 out of 5. The bonus comes about once in 205 spins and the cap is 75,000x. If you want frequent small wins it is a poor fit: only about 22 spins in 100 pay anything.
How volatile is Fire in the Hole 4?
Nolimit City does not print a volatility figure on the game page. The low hit rate, the 75,000x cap and its 1 in 40 million odds all point to very high volatility, like the rest of the series.
Is the bonus buy worth it?
Only with money you are ready to lose in one go. The cheapest buy costs 650 times your bet and the dearest 1,500 times, and Nolimit does not list a separate RTP for each buy on the game page.
Should I play Fire in the Hole 4 or 3?
Play 4 if you want the bonus more often (about 1 in 205 spins against 1 in 231). Play 3 if you chase the cap: 70,000x at about 1 in 14.3 million, against 75,000x at about 1 in 40 million in the new game.
